Victoria Sweet Pastry

November 29, 2013 By Keith Leave a Comment

Tucked within the new commercial property right beside Tesco Tanjung at Tanjung Bungah, Vantage Desiran Tanjung; Victoria Sweet Pastry is a rather new dessert eatery which opened its doors not long ago. Its obscure location makes it a little inconspicuous, from Tesco Tanjung, keep to the left and enter a link-bridge to Vantage Desiran Tanjung, you should be able to spot this eye-catching dessert shop facing the main road of Jalan Tanjung Bungah. Be spoiled for choices at Victoria Sweet Pastry’s wide variety of desserts at affordable prices. The place exudes modern and relaxed vibe, making it a very good place for gatherings and friends get-together. Their genuine service offered us a pleasing experience at the place; a worth-visiting place where you can satiate your cravings for desserts especially those with a sweet tooth.

Unlike any other Macaroons, their Chocolate Coffee Macaroon (Rm 8.90) comes in an unusual size, a size of a fist, beautifully layered with some Almonds, Pumpkin Seeds and Walnuts in between; a layered dimension of texture- crunchy yet creamy. It was sweet but not cloying sweet with a bitter end, making it a contenting dessert to share with friends. Other flavors available were Orange, Mixed Berries and Green Tea.

Their aesthetically pleasing Fruit Tart (Rm 8.90) was inexplicable, with a balanced medley of sweet and sour notes from the fresh fruits- a Gooseberry, Blue Berries, Orange, Kiwi, Canned Pineapple and Strawberries. Surprise was the pastry which was pleasingly delightful but not crumbly. With the perfect crunch, it makes a very good combination with the velvety smooth crème pâtissière and zingy juicy fruits; very refreshing, tame and light on the palates. Surprisingly not sweet, sinful but worth the calories.
