An interesting post about Penang.
Want the Porsche 911 GT3, but can’t afford the RM1.8 million asking price tag? Well, the new 911 Soundbar 2.0 Pro will let you own a piece of it… at a price of a new Perodua Myvi – USD12,000 (approx. RM57k).
Created by the German carmaker’s lifestyle merchandise arm, Porsche Design, the Soundbar 2.0 Pro turns the exhaust of the current-generation Porsche 911 GT3, into a bespoke – and somewhat superfluous – piece of home hi-fi audio equipment.
Only 500 units of these will ever be made, probably because the exhausts are taken from used 911 GT3s. We’re kidding, of course, but really – why are they so rusty? Heck, the sound doesn’t even come from the exhausts, but from the meshed portion behind it.
Questionable design choices aside, though, it’s probably quite a competent piece of audio equipment. The Porsche 911 Soundbar 2.0 Pro is a 2.1.2-channel Dolby Atmos surround sound speaker, with a total power of up to 300 watt.

Because it’s a soundbar, it features a 4K passthrough HDMI port, but can also double as a wireless speaker set thanks to the myriad of connectivity options including Bluetooth 5.0, Apple Airplay 2, Google Chromecast, and Spotify Connect.
With all that being said, let’s be honest – the people buying this won’t care an ounce about its sound. It’s there as a statement piece, or as a conversation starter for the ultimate Porsche fan. Just make sure you have a sturdy surface or wall to mount it to, because the whole thing weighs nearly 65 kg.
