The private home dining run by Will and Ma in Batu Ferringhi, Penang, turned out to be all that is promised – a great home kitchen though Ma’s Thai creations. The main dishes vary depending on the fresh ingredients sourced from morning markets.
The cozy and relaxing home space is where we enjoyed the dinner with our group of friends. The menu lists starters, soup, main dishes and dessert.
For starters, we had the Miang Kham, followed by the entree of Thai Fish Cake & Prawn Fritters. The Miang Kham is a leaf-wrapped salad bite with cha plu leaves and a delicious filling of roasted groundnuts, dried hae bee, chilli padi, lime, ginger, and onions. The wrap packed a punch and was very addictive too. Next was the Tomyam Seafood and is one most of us are familiar with. The spicy soup was generously presented with seafood.
Thai Fish Cake & Prawn Fritter
Moving on to the main dishes, we shared a Thai-style Soya Sauce Pork, Kale Salted Fish, Salad with Thai Sambal, Green Curry Chicken, and a Lime Steamed Fish with white rice. The Thai-style Soya Sauce Pork was tasty and the meat was extremely tender, while the Salad was served with two delicious Thai sambal.
