The People’s Housing Project (PPR) which commences this year will be known as ‘Rumah Malaysia’, as part of policy reform carried out by the Housing and Local Government Ministry.

Minister Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin said the built-up area of ‘Rumah Malaysia’ would be no less than 900 sq feet compared to around 700 sq feet currently, and the ministry would also adjust the rental rates throughout the country.

“It is time for the Malaysian people to get bigger houses to improve their quality of life. This will, in turn, make them high-quality citizens,” she said in a news conference after handing-over the keys to house buyers of Taman Seri Molek Perdana Phase 1 and PPR Taman Perling, Johor, yesterday.

Also present were the Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Abd Muttalib and state Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Ayub Jamil.

Elaborating, Zuraida said various facilities such as playgrounds, community hall and houses of worship must be provided at the ‘Rumah Malaysia’ projects, besides ensuring the formation of the residents’ committee which would be responsible for the maintenance and security of the residential area.

She said the projects were still in the tender process to find eligible contractors before the construction project could be carried out.

The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has agreed to give consideration for the special approval of moving in and out within the strata scheme during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.

The KPKT, in a statement yesterday, said the application for special approval, however, only applied to those who are in an urgent situation.

“In this regard, individuals and parties involved can submit a written application to the KPKT to apply for this special approval,“ it said.

According to the KPKT, the stipulated condition is to submit a rental agreement document that has been terminated or newly-signed or a sale and purchase transaction for a new house or confirmation of moving out of the house by the owner.

Those concerned also need to get approval from the police to cross districts or states; the transfer must have recommendations from the management body of the strata scheme involved; and are non-symptomatic of Covid-19.

The KPKT said the movers involved must be certified healthy, be Covid-19 negative and not have close contacts with any Covid-19 patients as well as declare a specific transfer date and time.

“The Ministry shall give due consideration to this special approval application if it meets all the stipulated conditions,“ it said.

Raja Kamarul Bahrin and Daim have burst the Malay bubble

March 21, 2019 By Keith Leave a Comment

Penang news.

Recent post just submitted by Malaysiakini. Without doubt among the most popular sources of info available.

Daim Zainuddin

COMMENT | Little do the Malays realise this: that the New Economic Policy (NEP) has benefited the non-Malays more than the Malays.

Last week, the country needed to hear the words of both Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah and former finance minister Daim Zainuddin. Both have managed to burst the Ketuanan Malay hypocrisy and NEP bubbles.

Theirs was an honest and courageous admission from the political class. More politicians, especially Malay politicians, must denounce the hardline racists who have corrupted our government and nation. Bitterness and division have destroyed our society. Race and religion have robbed us of unity.

Our neighbours are overtaking us in the economic stakes, but Malaysians act like adolescent teenagers who are spoiling for a fight. This is the fault of both the political class and the clerics.

If you are able to control the Malay mind, you have discovered a gold mine. That is how politics has been structured in Malaysia, to lead the Malay by his emotion, rather than his intellect.

The Malay population has been raised and force-fed, on an infant formula of race and religion, by the nannies, Umno-Baru and PAS. The Malays are easily manipulated by the Malay politicians and clerics. It is all about control…
