OO White Coffee Cafe 噢噢白咖啡 @ Waterfall Hotel, Penang.

March 10, 2021 By Keith Leave a Comment

A really good article on Penang Malaysia.

If you happen to tour around Penang island (or a local here), chances are high that you have seen or tried this brand- OO White Coffee Cafe 噢噢白咖啡. The striking turqoise-colored signage is recognizable from afar and the brand has presence in Queensbay Mall, Georgetown (Carnavon Street) and now the latest spot is Waterfall Hotel (at Waterfall Road). It takes up the spot previously occupied by Duesey Coffee. OO White Coffee Cafe has quite a number of items to offer- from their signature Toasts, Coffee to mains like Nasi Lemak, Chicken Rice, Hokkien Mee, Pan Mee, Char Koay Teow or even Oyster Omelette; all are reasonably priced. The dining hall is very spacious and could accommodate quite a number of tables, a convenient and comfortable spot to drop by for any meals (whether breakfast or lunch).

Chicken Rice
Georgetown

Mushroom Pan Mee (Rm 8.50/ dry)

Hokkien mee

Braised Chicken Noodles (Rm 10.90)

Nasi Lemak

Ipoh Bean Sprouts (Rm 3.90)

OO White Coffee Cafe

Sayur Manis Soup (Rm 6)

Penang Island

Soft Boiled Eggs (Rm 3.20)

Queensbay Mall

Signature Kaya Butter Toast (Rm 4.20)

States and federal territories of Malaysia

Polo Bun (Rm 4.50)

Both mains- Braised Chicken Noodles and Pan Mee were pretty good, especially the Chicken Noodles. Like Wan Ton Mee, the noodles were expertly cooked with a springy texture and the accompanying sauce was delicious… packed with flavor and a sleek sweetness. The Chicken was tender and paired well with the noodles. It was optional to top up the Ipoh Bean Sprouts but it was a good move… the fatty, juicy Sprouts gave a crunchy-satisfying bite to the noodle dish. Like-wise, the Mushroom Pan Mee had a nice bite to the noodles, even better with the addition of a sunny side up and crisp Anchovies. For side orders, the Toasts were alright, nothing out of the ordinary but definitely not disappointing. The Polo Bun was good- not too sweet with pillowy texture.
