A really good post about Penang Malaysia.
Since the acquisition by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, Proton’s pace of introducing updated products has been at an incredibly fast. We now have the second facelift of the popular Proton Persona sedan, just two years after the first big update. The company also unveiled the new Proton Iriz Active together with the new Persona.
The new facelifted Proton Persona 2022 is only available in three variants – Standard CVT at RM45,200, Executive CVT at RM50,100 and Premium CVT at RM54,900. The prices are on-the-road, without insurance and inclusive of the sales tax exemption that is valid until December 31st 2021.
The 5-speed manual transmission variant has been discontinued from this 2022 facelift model year. All models are equipped with the same 1.6-litre engine making 109 hp and 150 Nm of torque.
Being a facelift, changes are focused on the exterior and in particularly, just the front bumper and incorporating grille. The facelifted Proton Persona 2022 now bears the new circular Proton logo introduced in early 2020 via the CKD Proton X70.
The new bumper design applies more paint at the corner sections where the DRLs are and a more pronounced central section in black. Larger 16-inch wheels are also fitted on the new Proton Persona 2022 and wrapped with 185/55R16 tyres.

The air vents have also been repositioned and additional USB charging slots have been included.
The new infotainment system in the Premium variant has been upgraded with additional “Hi Proton” voice commands, such as changing the settings of the air-conditioner and operation of the driver’s power window. The Premium variant is also fitted with leatherette upholstery and are the same shade of colour as found in the Proton X70.
Further down of the redesigned centre cluster is the conveniently located switches for ECO mode, electronic stability control and parking sensors.
