Someone In Japan Got Arrested For Selling Modded Breath Of The Wild Save Files

July 11, 2021 By Keith Leave a Comment

A great post about Penang Malaysia.

Back in February, we saw reports of a man getting arrested in Japan for selling hacked Pokemon for the franchise’s latest installments. More recently, someone just got caught doing something similar, but for another Nintendo IP. Said person was caught selling modded save files for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The Broadcasting System of Niigata reports that a Tokyo resident was detained on 8 July for said offense. Originally, the modded save data was put up in an auction site in April for JPY3500 (~RM133). The listing was dubbed “the strongest software”, with boosted stats and rare items that would be tricky to obtain via normal gameplay.

Breath of the Wild modded save

Though the person was caught selling modded save files for Breath of the Wild, it wasn’t the only game he was modding saves for. The reports states that he also admitted to doing the same for other games, earning JPY10 million (~RM380000) since December 2019.

The man is charged under Japan’s Unfair Competition Prevention law, under which modding of save files isn’t illegal. But it immediately steps outside legal realms once the modded save files start going on sale. And as we saw previously, Nintendo is very quick to take action when it comes to its own IPs.

Video: Turning Eu Jin’s E36 BMW 325i into an “M3”

July 5, 2021 By Keith Leave a Comment

An interesting article about Malaysia.

Welcome another episode of the Project EJ36 Vlog where my 27-year old E36 BMW 325i from 1994 undergoes more cosmetic changes and this time, it’s a more drastic makeover.

If you’ve seen the first episode of the Project EJ36 series, my daily-driven E36 was fitted with a set of used 17-inch BBS RK wheels. They were bought via an auction site in Japan and were refurbished at King of Rims in Shah Alam.

The beautifully restored wheels were paired with a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 tyres.

Moving forward, the next step was to make it “look fast”; by swapping the original front and rear bumpers for a set of replica M3 body kit. The body kit was sourced from a local body kit supplier called EX Concept, based in Puchong.

The M3 replica kit consisted of a front bumper, rear bumper, and a pair of side skirts. Such was the excitement that the new body kit was sent to the body shop on the same day for exterior makeover to begin.

Instead of just slapping on the body kit and calling it a day, I figured the rest of the E36’s exterior needed a little refreshing and so the entire body was resprayed (unfortunately with the same colour cause I’ve been broke) and what a swan it has turned into.
