Facebook May Be Working On A Smartwatch; Runs Android

February 15, 2021 By Keith Leave a Comment

A great article on Penang.

There are many companies that you’d expect to come up with a smartwatch. Facebook is probably not one of them. Though a new report indicates that the social media company may very well be working on such a wearable.

The Information cites sources that say Facebook could be working on a smartwatch. And it would ship with the Android operating system, though it’s unclear as to if this means the Wear OS or the regular phone OS. The company may instead be using its own OS that is based on the Android OS.

Facebook

For now, there’s no word on when, or if, the company will be making an official announcement. But it does beg the question. would you buy a Facebook smartwatch? There are plenty of other more established brands in the business. So the social media company will have to offer something that no other competitor in the field does in order for its own wearable to be appealing.

Of course, there’s also the matter of data collection on such a device. Facebook doesn’t exactly has a clean record when it comes to privacy. It will likely be a source of concern, similar to Google’s acquisition of Fitbit.

Video: Toyota Innova 2.0X facelift, 5 Things

February 14, 2021 By Keith Leave a Comment

A great post about Penang.

UMW Toyota Motor has just launched the new facelift Toyota Innova with three variants available – 2.0E, 2.0G, and 2.0X. Prices start from RM 111,622 for the 2.0E, RM121,483 for the 2.0G, and RM129,677 for the range-topping 2.0X. All variants are accompanied by a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty.

Underneath the hood is a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine with 139 hp and 183 Nm, paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission to drive the rear wheels.

As for the exterior, the new 2.0X comes with a redesigned grille (losing the chrome strips from before), and its signal and fog lights are now separated instead of being clustered together previously. On the side, the Innova 2.0X comes with additional body cladding by the doors while the rear now features a blacked-out lower bumper along with a chrome strip on the tailgate.

The cabin of the facelift Innova is where the magic really is. In our opinion, they’ve done a really good job in making the Innova feel luxurious on the inside.

For one, you get captain seats with arm rests and a cupholder in between. There’s also a collapsible table on each side with air-con blowers for the 2nd and 3rd row passengers.

Features in the facelift Innova include a 4.2-inch Multi-information display, a 9-inch touchscreen with 6 speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Android

For safety, the facelift Innova relies on seven airbags, a blindspot monitor, and rear cross traffic alert. Unlike the new facelift Fortuner, it does not come with the Toyota Safety Sense driver assistance system.

However, it is available with Toyota’s Vehicle Telematics System that’s able to track the MPV’s movement and location via GPS.
