A really good post on Penang Malaysia.
Its existence has been hinted for quite some time but it seems that Astro is finally ready to launch the company’s latest offering which is called Sooka. The new streaming service is generally being seen as part of the company’s effort to revitalise itself against the growing popularity of streaming services.
Even though it is part of Astro, you will notice that its branding was completely missing from Sooka’s official Facebook page that went live earlier this month. This is in line with the initial information that we have heard back in April.
The full scope of Sooka’s content offerings is not yet known at the moment although its official Facebook page has stated that there will be more than 4,000 hours of shows for users to watch for free. At the same time, Sooka has also confirmed that 33 UEFA Euro 2020 matches will be made available for free through the service.
Those who want to watch all 51 matches from the event can choose to subscribe to Sooka’s VIP + Sports plan which will cost RM 15.90 per month in conjunction with the launch of the service. The promotional pricing will be valid for three months before it reverts back to the standard pricing of RM 41.90.
Meanwhile, Sooka’s conversation with its Facebook visitors also revealed that the service is planning to release apps for Android TV and smart TV in the near future. However, the service will only cater to Android mobile devices and iOS products at launch.
As for the actual launch, Sooka will go live tomorrow, 8 June at 8:00 AM. So, stay tuned for more information regarding Astro’s new streaming offshoot coming your way soon.
