To qualify for the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, the resort must maintain an overall rating of four or higher out of a maximum rating of five, as reviewed by travellers. Additional criteria include volume of reviews and how recently the reviews have been submitted by TripAdvisor travellers over the past 12 months. Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa scored a 4.5 out of a possible 5 points.
