IT was a rare chance for fans of Disney animated movie, Frozen, who got to see their screen idols Queen Elsa and Princess Anna come to life before their eyes during a meet-and-greet session in Penang.

The royal sisters, dressed in outfits that personified their characters in the film, freely flashed smiles as the crowd frantically took snapshots of them with their mobile phones.
The event, organised by PR Worldwide and Feld Entertainment Inc, was aimed at giving Penangites a glimpse into the upcoming Disney on Ice show that will be held on March 26 and 27 at the SPICE Arena.
Children and adults alike were ecstatic as Elsa and Anna also took part in special photography sessions over two days that were open to Disney on Ice ticket holders on a first-come, first-served basis at Gurney Plaza recently.
R. Para, who is director of PR Worldwide, the Malaysian promoter of Disney on Ice, said: “As a Penangite myself, I am extremely excited that we are able to bring one of the biggest Disney on Ice productions to Penang this year.
“We look forward to sharing the magic of Disney and to taking all of you on a journey through some of the most magical moments from across the kingdom with a superstar line-up of Disney royalty.”
State Tourism Development Committee chairman Danny Law Heng Kiang, who opened the event, also expressed his excitement in welcoming the world-class production to the Pearl of the Orient.

“Penang has proven itself to be a potential destination for major international events where it is able to meet the requirements of world-class productions with good venues and support facilities.
“Families can now enjoy this brilliant performance right in their hometown,” he said.
At the event, PR Worldwide also launched a charity campaign, offering caring corporate companies the opportunity to host and entertain children from various homes and orphanages.
Para started the ball rolling and presented 30 Disney on Ice Magical Ice Festival tickets to Ramakrishna Ashrama Penang chairman K. Ramasamy. He said charity ticket packages were available at discounted rates.
Joining Elsa and Anna in the ice-skating extravaganza will be fellow characters from Frozen — the hilarious snowman Olaf, the rugged mountain-man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven.
The Magical Ice Festival will also feature adventurous moments from Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Beauty and the Beast and other traditional Disney stories.

The show is sponsored by Maybank, Maxis and Citroen.
