Tam Bun – apparently this is a must buy gift for unlucky friends and family who didn’t make it Penang with you!
There’s no way we would have ever found this pastry shop were it not for Ken. Apparently these Tambun biscuits are big treats to take back to your friends in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Baked fresh in house daily, there are a whole range of other Chinese sweets and biscuits there too. I couldn’t resist a few packets of peanut and sesame brittle – a steal at RM2! The whole box of Tambuns (above) too were only RM4.50. I’m sure that’s at least half the price of the tourist overloaded spots that are clearly visible in the centre of Georgetown.
