China Cultural Festival

Brought to you at the Esplanade byThe Penang Tourism Development and Culture Office for the first time ever, this 2 day extravaganza highlights this unique, stunningly beautiful and vibrant cultural performance all the way from China.

Designed to introduce the Chinese Cultural performances of mainland China to the people and visitors of Penang, fostering positive ties between the peoples of mainland China and Penangites and tourists alike.

The two groups that will be performing for these two nights are from Xiamen (Minnan) Tourism Culture & Industry Company Limited and Guangxi Qingzhou cultural troupe.

The performance will include dances from the Zhuang tribe that depicts their enthusiasm and deep respect for nature. Guangxi is well- known for the various minority tribes especially the Zhuang tribe.

Another is the famed variety show, “Impression-Liu San Jie”, which is choreograph by Director Zhang Yimou. “Liu San Jie” is a well-known icon and the pride of people of Guangxi.

The performances from Xiamen includes; the lovely Water Lilly Dance which depicts the graceful and hardworking girls of Minnan, the mysterious art of Face Changing, and an entertaining Puppet Show entitled “Training the Monkey” from world renowned performer Li Wen Rong. He has performed in various countries all over the world such as Japan, France and Germany.
