When one mentions about having Western breakfast in Penang, many will be suggesting this place- Big Ben Breakfast. Being a glutton, its ashamed that I have yet to try their food after so many years, finally, I’ve found a time to hunt for it, the place where many people raved about! Location for Big Ben Breakfast is rather obscure and inconspicuous, from Jalan Kebun Bunga heading towards Botanical Garden, look for a touristy area on your right, Big Ben Breakfast is sitting at one of those hawker stalls.

Big Ben Breakfast Set (Rm 7.50) comes with 2 slices of Toasts, heavily slathered with Butter, a Sunny side-up, a halved Tomato, a slice of Bacon, Ham, Sausage and some Baked Beans. If you must know…. Yes, it’s an ordinary breakfast set where you can get it done at your own kitchen. It was a huge surprise that they actually poached the egg using oil, the result is a smooth sunny side-up with a runny egg yolk. Good to taste but bad for health. The Baked Beans were literally “swimming” in a lake of oil.

On the other hand, this Set B (Rm 6) shared the same ingredients as “Big Ben Breakfast Set” except the Bacon.
