A really good article about Penang Malaysia.
If you were to draw a Venn diagram of Bentley owners and yacht owners, we’d wager that the overlap between the two is probably pretty significant. So it comes as no surprise that Bentley has now unveiled a new special Mulliner Riviera Collection for the Continental GT Convertible, which is designed to “celebrate the elegant world of the yachting industry”.
Production is limited to only three units, and because ‘yacht’, it’s also only available exclusively via Bentley Monaco, the “elite hub of luxurious Mediterranean sailing”.
Each of the three cars are painted in either an Aegean Blue, Aquamarine, or Caribbean Blue exterior, all of which supposedly draws inspiration from the colours of the Mediterranean Sea along the French Riviera. The same hue is also applied onto the carbon fibre bodykit, as well as the boot lid spoiler.
The highlight of the special-edition model, however, is on the inside. Aside from the usual splash of colour and extra thematic trims like the door sill plates and marine knot embroideries, the entire centre console is also topped with a unique patterned wooden veneer mimicking the wooden deck of yachts.
Linen hide and Alcantara trims tie up the nautical theme of the interior, while buyers will also receive special Reviera leather key cases to remind you of your car when you’re sailing away on your actual yacht.
“Bentley Monaco’s understanding of the yachting world, a key focus of the principality, together with the know-how of our Mulliner designers, have created truly exceptional and unique cars,” commented Bentley Europe Regional Director, Balazs Rooz. “This will complement the breathtaking Mediterranean coastline and surroundings where this one-off Continental GT Convertible will likely be driven and enjoyed.”
The British luxury carmaker did not divulge on the car’s specifications, but we don’t expect it to be any different to the regular GT Convertible. That means a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine underneath the bonnet and an eight-speed gearbox, sending 550 hp and 769 hp to all four wheels, which translates to a 0-100 km/h time of 4.1 seconds, onward to a top speed of 319 km/h.
